Abstract: This paper has the goal to show the performance of
a multilayer perceptron neural network (MLP-NN), designed to emulate
the Kalman filter and the variational method emplyed to the data
assimilation. Numercial examples are executed for the Lorenz system
under chaotic dynamical regime.
