Abstract: A semi-empirical method to evaluate the nonlocal exchange coefficients for a turbulent Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) under convective conditions is described in this paper. The method is based on a model for the spectra of turbulent kinetic energy and the Taylor statistical diffusion theory. In case of strong convection the vertical exchange coeffient derived herein is insensitive to the stability parameter (Zi/(-L)).
