Abstract: This paper analyzes the interaction between the upper level cyclonic vortices in the vicinity of Northeast Brazil (CVNE) and South Atlantic Convergence Zone (SACZ) during the southern summer, from December, January and February, 1997-2002. This interaction is known in this work how SACZ- CVNE pattern. The results show the pattern in the upper air wind fields, involving mainly an anticyclonic circulation (AT) located between Southerastern Brazil and adjacent oceanic areas, cyclonic vortices in the vicinity of Northeast of Brazil (CVNE) and Bolivian high (BH). The results also suggest that, in general, the convective activity over Southeastern Brazil is enhancing with the interaction these systems: (SACZ- CVNE) and the precipitation is intensified.
