Abstract: In the present work the dynamics of a fluid flow in a fractaldomain is analyzed. This domain is a cavity in which the edges are pre-fractals of the Koch square curve. Simulations were carried out considering the pre-fractals of level 0 (square cavity), 1 and 2. The natural convection simulation were performed on a structured staggered grid using a finite volume method, as in our previous work [1]. Two unexpected results were obtained for isothermal and non-isothermal flows. For the former flow, the average kinetic energy <Ec> for fractal-1 is greater than fractal-2 in the interval [900, 1500] for the Reynolds number. For the non-isothermal flow <Ec> for fractal-1 is greater than fractal-2 for Re > 5000.
