Abstract: In this paper we use a full decomposition of the spatial-discretized operator representing the linear part of three coupled one-dimensional shallow water equations. Using the Kronecker product and the circulant matrix theory, we carry out an analysis on the operator spectrum, which shows the qualitative behaviour of the model dynamics. By means of the non-modal approach we can find the stationary invariant associated to only one real eigenvalue from the discretized linear operator.
