E. Doescher, H.F. Campos Velho, F.M. Ramos (2001): Fluid Flow in a Fractal Cavity, 28-30 November, Santa Maria (RS), Brazil.

Abstract: In the real world very complex geometry is generally found. The fractal approach has been used to modeling some structures in nature, such as clouds and mountains. The driven cavity problem is used to test a numerical scheme, which is based on the finite volume method with structured meshes. The cavity is represented by a square Koch fractal curve. Some levels of fractalization are simulated.
