The main objective of the BRAVO@INPE project is to address strategic issues related to Virtual Observatory. More specifically, the BRAVO@INPE project intends to generate investment in information technology, with particular emphasis on Computational Infrastructure, Data Grid, Data Processing, and Data Mining. We are currently elaborating a white paper elucidating the specific needs of the near future. This effort aims to prepare the Brazilian astronomical community for the avalanche of data and massive data processing needs that are a reality now, and which will increase rapidly in the coming years with the advent of the large telescopes and surveys currently under development (GMT, TMT; LSST, Pan-STaRRS, VISTA, VST).
